General Information
Tuition & Renewal Policies
Please refer to your signed copy of the Contractual Agreement provided at enrollment for your specific program term, tuition rate, renewal date, and method of payment. The following are general policies:
Tuition Policy:
- No refunds will be given
- Tuition is expected on time and in full.
- There will be no pro-rating of tuition due to missed days or holidays
- Tuition is due regardless of attendance. See our “Freeze” policy.
Renewal Policy:
Your membership will renew automatically unless you specify to us in writing 30 days in advance. After an annual membership has expired, the account will roll over to another annual membership unless an alternative membership is chosen.
Uniforms & Patches
Uniforms must be worn by all students participating in class, unless it is a student’s trial class. An Eternal Martial Arts t-shirt may be worn to class, but not to belt tests. Red uniforms are only given to those students who are members of the Black Belt Club. The red uniform may be worn to class and belt tests, but not to tournaments or their Black Belt test.
Flag patches are available for any student to purchase. The American flag patch will always be worn on the right arm, while the Korean flag patch will be worn on the left arm. The patches need to be affixed one inch below the seam of the arm, and centered so that a sideways view of the student would reveal the entire patch.
Upon receiving a Black Belt, students may upgrade to a superior style of uniform. Please check with your instructor about your options for striping, etc.
Mandatory sparring equipment
Due to our involvement in the AAU (Amatuer Athletic Association), we require that students obtain the following equipment:
Olympic Sparring Gear: Cloth shin/instep pads, cloth forearm pads, & hogu (chest protector), mouth piece, and cup/supporter (males only).
All of your equipment purchases can be made at our front desk.
Schedule Changes
As our students move upward through the ranks, their classes may change. After a belt test, please refer to the Eternal Martial Arts class schedule to make sure that you or your child is attending the correct class. From time to time, classes may change to better serve the students and the school.
Make Up Class Policy
Students are given 2 training sessions per week. They are encouraged to come at their belt level times. However, we understand that missing classes is sometimes unavoidable. Therefore, we have 1 to 2 make-up sessions per week. Students missing their regular class may use a make-up class to get caught up. Please avoid making up classes during other classes which are full.
Buddy Passes
Our best advertising is word of mouth. If you love our program, please share your experience with a friend or relative. Buddy passes are located at the front desk and may be obtained by request. Buddy passes allow your friend to attend 1 week of Martial Arts training at no cost. As our way of saying thank you, you will receive a $50 gift card for referring a friend who becomes an Eternal Martial Arts member!
Freezing Your Membership
As a courtesy to you, we can freeze your membership. This means that you will have the “frozen” time added to the end of your membership. You must submit a freeze membership request in writing 30 days before a freeze can be implemented.
Terms & Conditions to Freeze:
- Submit a freeze membership request 30 days in advance.
- You may not freeze more than 2 months during a single year.
- Your account will continue to be charged during the freeze period. No credit will be given if you miss additional time (more than 2 months).
- You must freeze in full months. Example: If you wish to freeze your membership for Spring Break (one week), you must freeze for the entire month. In this instance, we would strongly recommend attending additional classes to make up for lost time.
Belt Testing
Eternal Martial Arts students must undergo a “pre-test” before being certified to promote to the next belt level.
Belt Testing Eligibility
- Students must have earned all of their belt stripes. White belts require: yellow, blue, and black (every other testing period, a green stripe will be required as well). Yellow Striped belts through Double Black Striped Belts require: yellow, blue, and a black stripe. Poom Belts will not receive any striping at their level.
- Students must have trained for 3 months since their last belt test. Any student missing substantial training time due to illness, injury, etc., must request eligibility from a Head Instructor.
- During the pre-test, a student must show belt level acceptability in the following areas: kicking practice, focus pad attacks, and formal pattern.
- Patterns will be judged on the quality of these 5 areas: memorization, power, breathing, timing, & technique.
- The instructors alone may make decisions regarding a student’s readiness to test. No student may test unless they have first passed their pre-test.
- If it has been more than 3 months since your last test, please inform your instructor during class. This information will help us target challenged students for additional training and guidance.
Belt Test Fees
- The price for all color belt testers is $50. This includes the price of the belt.
- Black Belt Tests cost the following: $350- 1st Degree, $400- 2nd Degree, $450- 3rd Degree, & $500- 4th Degree.
- Black Belts who are recertifying need only pay $50 for their test.
Refer to Your Schedule
With a new belt, your class time may change. Please refer to the Eternal Martial Arts class schedule to be sure you attend the proper class.
Holidays & Closures
We close our doors in order to honor the following holidays:
New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving (and the Friday & Saturday following), Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
